When Mudita Salus CIC was founded, it was with a simple belief – that wellbeing should be accessible to everyone, not a luxury. Based in Winscombe (covering North Somerset), the small not-for-profit creates spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, and feel part of a supportive community.

One of the ways they do this is through their Connect3 Wellbeing Walks. These free guided walks run across North Somerset (Weston-Super-Mare, Winscombe and Portishead) and have been gently growing in popularity since they began earlier this year. Each month has a theme inspired by the “pathways to nature connectedness” – with October focusing on Emotion, using the natural world as a mirror for how we feel and a doorway into conversation.

The walks are small, friendly groups (usually 6–8 people) with no pressure and no experience needed. A recent walk in Weston Woods ended not only with calm and reflection, but also new friendships and plenty of laughter.

Our favourite moments,” say Kim and Lee from Mudita Salus, “are when we see people who arrived as strangers leave chatting and smiling together. For us, that’s what it’s all about – connection.”

The next Weston-Super-Mare walk takes place in Weston Woods on Monday 6th October at 3pm. Everyone is welcome, and there’s no need for referral – just an openness to step outside and enjoy what nature has to offer.
