Following an overwhelmingly pawsitive response to its one-month trial, The Grand Pier has announced that dogs are now officially and permanently welcome on site.
Since opening its doors to our four-legged friends in early June, The Grand Pier has seen an impressive 25,000 paws grace its boardwalk, showing an incredible turnout of happy hounds and their equally happy humans.

From dog-friendly ice cream to the UK’s first-ever Doggy Grab Game, the Pier quickly became a top destination for day-tripping dogs across the country.
Ripley, the Grand Pier’s Chief Canine Officer said; "We knew dogs were part of the family – now they’re part of the Pier too! The trial was a barking success, and the feedback from our visitors (both two and four legged) was clear: dogs make The Grand Pier even better. I’ve never seen so many wagging tails in one place!”
To make visitors and their furry friend more comfortable, The Grand Pier has introduced the following available daily on site:
Water stations across the Pier
Complimentary dog biscuits
Special dog-friendly ice cream
The ever-popular Doggy Grab Game
Clearly signposted doggy-friendly zones
A warm welcome from Pier staff – and Ripley himself, when he's not napping!
The original trial guidelines will remain in place to ensure all guests enjoy a safe and comfortable visit, including leash requirements, breed restrictions, and a gentle reminder: “Three barks and you’re out!”
