Neighbourhood Policing continue crackdown on anti-social behaviour with arrests and seizures

The Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team for Weston-super-Mare carried out a high‑visibility operation today, supported by colleagues from CCTV, Community Response, and the Business Improvement District.
The operation was a success with multiple arrests and seizures.
During the operation police undertook a range of actions including;
Two prolific offenders were located and arrested
A 44‑year‑old woman was arrested for multiple shoplifting offences. She has been charged and remanded to appear in court tomorrow
A 43‑year‑old man was arrested for breaching his court bail conditions
Several individuals were detained for stop searches, resulting in the recovery of a knife and Class B drugs, removing harmful items from our streets
Officers seized two adapted motorised push bikes and an e‑scooter believed to be linked to anti‑social behaviour and illegal use

Two vulnerable members of the street community were safeguarded and supported in returning to their hometown with assistance from the YMCA outreach team
Three individuals were issued dispersal notices and removed from the town centre following reports of anti‑social behaviour
A spokesperson for Avon & Somerset Police said;
"We remain committed to ensuring the town centre is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone"
