Neighbourhood Policing continue crackdown on anti-social behaviour with arrests and seizures

The Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team for Weston-super-Mare carried out a high‑visibility operation today, supported by colleagues from CCTV, Community Response, and the Business Improvement District.


The operation was a success with multiple arrests and seizures.


During the operation police undertook a range of actions including;


  • Two prolific offenders were located and arrested


  • A 44‑year‑old woman was arrested for multiple shoplifting offences. She has been charged and remanded to appear in court tomorrow


  • A 43‑year‑old man was arrested for breaching his court bail conditions


  • Several individuals were detained for stop searches, resulting in the recovery of a knife and Class B drugs, removing harmful items from our streets


  • Officers seized two adapted motorised push bikes and an e‑scooter believed to be linked to anti‑social behaviour and illegal use

  • Two vulnerable members of the street community were safeguarded and supported in returning to their hometown with assistance from the YMCA outreach team


  • Three individuals were issued dispersal notices and removed from the town centre following reports of anti‑social behaviour


A spokesperson for Avon & Somerset Police said;


"We remain committed to ensuring the town centre is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone"
