Today marked another effective day of multi-agency work addressing issues in Weston-super-Mare town centre.
Local Neigbourhood Policing Team officers, supported by North Somerset Community Response, BID Street Wardens, North Somerset CCTV operators, and the Police Mounted Section, carried out high‑visibility patrols throughout the area.
Their activity led to the arrest of a prolific shoplifter, the issuing of two Community Protection Warnings, one Community Protection Notice, and one individual being reported for breaching a CPN.
Additionally, officers seized two e‑scooters, with both riders being reported for riding without insurance and not in accordance with their driving licence.
A spokesperson for Avon & Somerset Police said;
“We will continue to maintain a strong presence in the area, responding to concerns raised by members of the public, partner agencies, and local businesses.
Our goal is simple: to ensure that everyone who lives, works, or visits the town centre feels safe and truly is safe.
Through ongoing patrols and proactive engagement, we remain committed to keeping the community secure and supporting a positive environment for all.”
