Police investigating Loves Cafe incident as a hate crime

The attack at Loves Cafe which took place over the weekend is being investigated as a suspected hate crime, Avon & Somerset Police have confirmed.


In a statement issued to Weston Independent News, Avon & Somerset Police said; “Officers are investigating a suspected hate crime at a café in Weston-super-Mare.

 

“Sometime overnight between Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August, the front door was damaged, glass broken and a sticker with hateful connotations.

 

“A CCTV trawl has taken place and other enquiries are ongoing.

 

“We want to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen or heard anything suspicious to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting reference 5225244861.”
