Two people have been arrested after a warrant was carried out in Weston-super-Mare today (Wednesday 9 July).

Officers from the Weston-super-Mare Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, assisted by Bournville Neighbourhood Policing Team and the new Neighbourhood Tasking Team conducted a section 8 warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a property in North Street this morning.

Two men, aged 26 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A (crack cocaine) and class C (nitrous oxide gas) drugs. Both remain in police custody. During the warrant, officers seized a sum of cash, a quantity of white powder, cannisters which are believed to be for NOS gas, phones, a small amount of suspected cannabis, drug-related paraphernalia and a Sur-Ron bike.

A scene was initially in place but has since been closed down and enquiries are ongoing.

Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Christopher Darnell said: "Today's warrant was only possible thanks to the information we received from members of the public and the work of officers in the community. Because of this, we have been able to seize a number of items which are considered harmful to our communities.

"I would like to thank everyone who contacted us with information. Even something which may, on the surface, seem small and not as significant can help us build a wider picture and aid enquiries."
