Significant buildings works are at last beginning to take place at the row of empty shops on Waterloo St owned by local businessman Richard Nightingale though his company Nation Commercial Holdings.
Weston Independent News has learnt that the buildings works include new windows at the front and rear of the properties and a full renovation of the inside of the commercial units leaving them identical to one another.
The works will also remove the old signage to the units which will be replaced with plain boards ready for new tenants to utilise.
One unit appears to be almost complete and tradespersons can be seen undertaking work on further units.
Scaffolding remains in place at the premises in order to facilitate the work required on the 1st floor windows.
Sam Walker of Walker & Ling said;
“Bringing the units back up to scratch is essential for the continued regeneration of the High St, especially this end of the town centre which has been neglected for too long.
Everybody is keen to see these units filled and busy again.”
