Tributes pour in for man who died in M5 accident

Tributes have been made to the man who died in a road collision on the M5 on Sunday night.


The man, who has been named locally as 18yr old Logan Smith lived in Weston-super-Mare and was originally from Chesterfield.


Logan had a passion for motorcycles and had studied plumbing at Weston College. In recent weeks he had taken to social media to voice concerns over his mental health.

Weston-super-Mare is home to a range of support groups and organisations that can help boys and men struggling with their mental health.


2WISH offer counselling to anyone affected by the death of someone under 25, whether they are family, friends or a professional, and are located at The Stables on Wadham St, more information can be be found on their website

The Safe Haven, hosted by Second Step is located in Weston-super-Mare town centre and is open between 5pm and midnight and supports people who are in acute emotional distress, more information can be found here


The Samaritans are a national charity offering support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can also contact them if you’re worried about someone you know. They have a Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset branch and can be contacted here


Pete's Dragons is an award winning charity which specialises in postvention or suicide bereavement.

They run a monthly peer support group in Weston-super-Mare, on the first Tuesday of every month.
