Friends and family of a local 18yr old who was tragically killed on the M5 in November last year are asking for local motorbike riders to join them in paying tribute to Logan by joining him on one final ride from Elms Funeral Directors to Weston-super-Mare Crematorium.

Organisers are requesting riders to wear baby blue as it was Logan’s favourite colour.

The funeral is taking place on Friday 6th March and organisers are requesting riders meet at 1.30pm at Elms Funeral Directors.

Organisers for the event said;

“Logan was a big motorbike person including being a rider himself. Logan was a 18 year old lad who had a passion for bikes and was larger than life and we know he would of loved bikes escorting him on his final journey. If you can please help we would be truly grateful”

Logan Smith was being taken to hospital on 30th November 2025 when he got out of an ambulance on the M5 and was tasered by police before being hit by a car.

An inquest has been opened into the death and adjourned until the 30th March. The circumstances leading up to Logan’s death remain under investigation.

The police officer's actions are being investigated separately by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) after Avon and Somerset Police made a mandatory referral following the incident.
