Weston AFC to face Newport County in pre-season friendly

Weston-super-Mare will take on Newport County in a pre-season friendly at Optima Stadium on Tuesday, July 15, as both teams gear up for their upcoming new seasons.

The match, set to kick off at 7:15pm will be open to fans, offering an early glimpse of Scott Bartlett’s and David Hughes’ squads in action.

Weston-super-Mare, who placed eighth in the National League South last season, will provide a solid challenge for the Exiles as they prepare for the League Two opener.

The two teams last met in a 2022 pre-season friendly, with Newport securing a 4-0 victory.
