North Somerset Council have announced they are delaying the launch of an online booking system for the Recycling Centre in Weston which was due to start this year.
North Somerset Council said; “The booking system is ready to launch but with Christmas coming up, and the significant changes we’ve already made to recycling and waste collections this year, we’re delaying the booking system until early next year.
Unfortunately this means queues are more likely at the recycling centres during the busy festive period, but it reduces the risk of introducing a new system so close to the holidays. You’ll be able to take excess recycling and waste to the centres during this time without having to consider extra changes.
If you already have a permit for visits to our recycling centres, we’ll contact you before the new system is launched to let you know how we're managing your permit as we change to the new system.
The booking system will be introduced at Weston first and then a few weeks later at the Portishead and Backwell sites.
You’ll be able to book online or over the phone. We’ll be updating our website with more info at https://orlo.uk/hwrcbooking_6G2OO and look out for signage going up at the centres nearer the time”
