Every Child Needs Christmas is returning this year and the organisers need your help to create happy memories for local children in Weston-super-Mare and surrounding areas.

The scheme which is run by volunteers was launched in 2013 by Sara & Khurm Arshad. Sara, who runs the popular and well known Bentley Road Bakery operating out of Wick St Lawrence and is supported by a whole host of volunteers and local businesses.

Sara Arshad who created the scheme said; “The campaign is about all of you as a community, families and giving what we all can together to help those around us.

You can donate to the scheme by either donating a new, sealed, non-edible gift with a value of £7-£10 and dropping it to one of the many drop-off points.

A complete list of drop-off locations for the scheme can be found here

Alternatively you can also donate via ordering an item through the Every Child Needs Christmas Amazon wish list which will be automatically delivered to a drop off point. The Amazon wish list to donate to the scheme can be found here

The Bentley Road Baker is also hosting a Christmas Fair at the Winter Gardens in Weston on Tuesday 2nd December between 7.30pm and 10pm, with live music, Christmas shopping, cake bar and food.

Tickets to the Christmas Fair cost just £2 each and can be purchased here with 50% of each ticket sold going towards Every Child Needs Christmas and you will also receive entry into a raffle with a chance of winning a host of fantastic prizes.
