A report will be considered by North Somerset councillors when they meet next Tuesday (21 April). They’ll hear about the proposals and preferred operator before voting on recommendations in the report.
Live Nation is one of the most experienced live entertainment companies, with a wealth of expertise and operations in more than 40 countries. Following a robust procurement process, they have been announced as North Somerset Councils preferred operator
A spokesperson for North Somerset Council said;
“If approved by Full Council, the benefits of this appointment will be significant – economic growth, a wide range of events and experiences for local people and visitors, and an increased national profile
The renovation of the Tropicana is part of our ambitious placemaking vision for Weston. Our Improving Weston programme is helping to reinvent iconic heritage buildings, support local businesses, create new jobs and deliver a year-round experience-led economy for the future.
It’s been made possible thanks to an allocation from the £20m awarded to us by UK Government. We also secured an additional £2.7m from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) which is delivered by Arts Council England on behalf of the DCMS. The funding is provided specifically for this project and we can’t use it for any other purpose such as adult social care, children’s services or road maintenance.”
