Locking Parklands house fire “involved solar panels” says Fire & Rescue Service

A fire at a residential property on Locking Parklands that took place at the weekend is suspected to have been attributed to solar panels on the roof.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 1pm on Saturday 4th July as fire engulfed the roof of the property leading to its collapse.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire & Rescue Service said:
“We were called at 12:43pm on Saturday 4th July to reports of a fire on Rigger Street, Locking. On arrival, crews found a fire involving solar panels on a residential home.
Firefighters safely extinguished the fire using jets.
The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental. No injuries were reported.”
