On Saturday night, officers from Weston’s Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team arrested two suspects whilst they were in the act of carrying out a burglary of a home on Locking Rd.
A spokesperson for Avon & Somerset Police said;
“During the course of their duties, officers discovered an insecure address on Locking Road where the front window had been smashed. In accordance with their officers entered the premises to ensure the safety and security of the property and any occupants.”
”Once inside, officers encountered two individuals actively engaged in a burglary. One attempted to flee via a rear window; however, officers were able to restrain the suspect, enabling colleagues to move to the rear of the property where he was safely detained and arrested. Both offenders were taken into custody without further incident.”
”Dwelling burglary is a serious and intrusive offence that can leave victims feeling unsafe in their own homes for a considerable period of time.”
“The Neighbourhood Team remains fully committed to identifying offenders, preventing further harm, and bringing those responsible before the courts. We will continue to adopt a proactive, intelligence‑driven approach to tackling this type of criminality.”
