Avon and Somerset Police are actively investigating the incident, which involved a group of balaclava-clad men using a luxury vehicle to smash through the entrance.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 3:44 AM when a black Porsche Cayenne was driven into the Asda Express, located on Locking Moor Road. The group attempted to force entry into the building but fled the scene before police arrived, leaving behind the damaged Porsche and a grey Ford S-Max. Authorities believe the suspects escaped in a blue Audi Q5.

Officers responded within five minutes of the initial report, supported by a specialist dog unit, but the culprits were not located during an extensive search of the area. All members of the group were reported to be wearing black clothing and balaclavas, complicating identification efforts.

CCTV footage has been reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation, and a cordon remains in place around the petrol station to allow crime scene investigators to examine the site. The shopfront sustained “enormous damage,” according to local reports, disrupting operations at the convenience store.

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing to the public for information. A spokesperson stated, “We urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to come forward. Please call 101, quoting reference number 5225143650.”
