Weston-super-Mare Armed Forces and Emergency Services Day is returning to the Beach Lawns on Saturday 20th June 2026

While the event will have all the well-loved and fantastic components, the organising team are working hard behind the scenes to bring some new and exciting elements to this year’s event.

The arena will be shared by Armed Forces and Emergency Services displays, offering a full day of activities for all ages and providing an opportunity to show appreciation for local veterans and Armed Forces families.

You can also expect to find funfair rides, live music, a market, a bar, food stalls, and more! Visitors can enjoy a lively funfair atmosphere throughout the day, featuring attractions such as dodgems, bungee trampolines and children’s roundabouts.

Organisers encourage everyone to relax, bring a blanket, and make the most of the entertainment on offer, with refreshments available to enjoy as you soak up the fantastic atmosphere with family and friends.

This year will also showcase exciting new technology, with visitors able to discover how cutting-edge robotic innovations are helping to maintain Britain’s railway. Network Rail is now using advanced robots – including a four-legged “robot dog” – to inspect hard-to-reach areas. Attendees will be able to find out more and watch a live display of this technology in action.

EAT:Festivals will be providing the very best West Country food & drink producers and artisans for you to enjoy, with the market celebrating the great local producers surrounding Weston-super-Mare.

The team are also thrilled to announce the event will host the fantastic Satin Dollz! These pin up darlings are known for their tight blended harmonies, high energy tap dancing, sparkling charisma, and timeless beauty, delighting audiences of all ages both stateside and abroad. Wrapped in a retro bow and delivered with playful charm, The Satin Dollz have become synonymous with classic American style brought to life for modern audiences.

Organisers are also pleased to share that this year you can join them on Friday 19th June at 6.30pm in the Italian Gardens, Weston-super-Mare, for a special Sunset Ceremony to mark the beginning of Armed Forces and Emergency Services Day celebrations.

This free event, open to all, will feature a traditional Drumhead Service, a military aircraft flypast from Middlezoy Aerodrome (subject to weather and pilot availability) and a ceremonial flag raising. This poignant and memorable occasion offers a moment for reflection, respect, and community spirit as we come together to honour those who serve.

The event is enabled through financial support by Weston-super-Mare Town Council and the MOD, delivered by the team at Weston Business Improvement District.

The Mayor Cllr Martin Williams said:

“Armed Forces and Emergency Services Day is our chance to come together as a community to honour the incredible service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces and Emergency Services personnel, veterans, and their families. It’s a day of celebration, gratitude, and unity – so please join us on the Beach Lawns to reflect, to celebrate, and to show your support.”
