Weston AFC to host quiz night to raise funds for academy player battling cancer

Weston-super-Mare AFC is to host a quiz night to raise funds to support Tyler Swain and his family.

The event will take place the The Optima Stadium

Clubhouse on Sunday 30th August.

A spokesperson for Weston-super-Mare AFC said:

“A couple of months ago, one of our promising Academy prospects Tyler Swain received the devastating news that he had been diagnosed with a brain tumour

Since March, Tyler has undergone chemotherapy and is set to receive up to three to five weeks of radiotherapy this month - Recent scans have shown that Tyler's treatment is going well and working as expected

On Sunday 30th August, the Academy will be holding a quiz night at The Optima Stadium to help support Tyler and his family with entries at £20 per team (five members per team)

A GoFundMe page has also been set up to support Tyler, if anyone associated to the club would like to donate and support Tyler and his family”
