Windwhistle Primary School has been recognised for its ongoing commitment to creating healthier, happier learning environments for pupils and staff through its achievement of National Healthy Schools Status Network (NSHSN) recognition
The school says it has “made significant progress in supporting mental health and wellbeing, introducing targeted interventions for children experiencing social and emotional difficulties through the use of the Boxall Profile and personalised support programmes.”

Windwhistle has also expanded access to mental health support through a range of initiatives, including parent engagement sessions, staff reflective spaces, enhanced play and wellbeing opportunities through OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning), and the addition of more mindfulness activities.
Headteacher Heidi Hudd said: "We are delighted to receive National Healthy Schools Status Network recognition.
This achievement reflects our commitment to supporting the wellbeing of our pupils, staff and families.
We are proud of the progress we have made in strengthening mental health support, developing pupil leadership opportunities and creating a positive school environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to thrive."
