North Somerset Council leader issues update on Tropicana future

The leader of North Somerset Council, Cllr Mike Bell has issued an update on the future of the Tropicana with a new operator due to be announced in the next few months.

Leader of North Somerset Council; Councillor Mike Bell said; “We will be starting the fully funded work in the next of couple of months, when we also expect to announce the exciting news about the new operator who will be running the venue for the long term.

Delivering this big change and bold future for the Tropicana is something we need to get right. We cannot give a running commentary on what is happening due to the commercially sensitive discussions that are ongoing, but as soon as there is more information, we will share it.

This work is being funded by the UK Government and is being led by my colleague, Councillor Mike Solomon, who is the council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Open Spaces.”
