Weston Mela returns to Italian Gardens this July

Get ready for vibrant day filled with music, dance, delicious food and activities for all ages as the Weston Mela takes place once again at The Italian Gardens this year.


Weston Mela is a free, family‑friendly celebration of the rich cultural diversity that makes Weston-super-Mare vibrant.

Rooted in South Asian tradition, a “mela” is a joyful gathering — a place where people meet, mix and come together through food, music, dance and shared heritage.


This celebration is being shaped by members of North Somerset’s South Asian communities — Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Afghan and Nepali — working side by side to create an event that truly belongs to everyone.


The Weston Mela is entirely community‑run, powered by volunteers who are giving their time, skills and creativity to bring this vision to life.


The event will take place at The Italian Gardens on Saturday 4th July between midday at 5pm.

That picture is not the Italian gardens, its Grove Park, which is where the Mela festival had been held before
